Best fall half marathons in the Bay Area 2026

23 half marathons are still on the Bay Area calendar between now and December 31. The big three are the Golden Gate Half (bridge views), the Berkeley Half (flat and fast, mid-November) and the trail halves in the East Bay hills.

Our picks

For the views: Golden Gate Half Marathon, November 1. It crosses the bridge twice.
For a PR: Berkeley Half Marathon, November 15. Big-city race feel on Berkeley streets; online signup closes October 30.
For trail runners: the Coastal Trail Runs and Brazen Racing halves in the East Bay and Marin hills. Expect real climbing and fewer people.
For a low-key morning: the small Crissy Field series races in San Francisco run most weekends, with 5K, 10K and half options.
